PROTESTANTS TAKE THE
CAN YOU NAME 2 PERSONS IN EACH CENTURY, FROM THE 1st CENTURY TO THE 16th CENTURY THAT BELIEVED IN THESE GOSPELS AND DOCTRINES, AS THE PROTESTANTS AND THE UN-PROTESTANT PROTESTANTS DO. SUCH AS:
- THE 5 SOLAS
- TOTAL DEPRAVITY
- EXTRA NOS IMPUTATION
- PENAL SUBSTITUTION
- DOUBLE PREDESTINATION
- ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED
- UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION
- ETERNAL SECURITY
- LIMITED ATONEMENT
I’ve been told over and over again, by Protestants, that “the church is the collection of all true believers.” I agree with this statement wholeheartedly. Anyone can make this claim. But who is a True Believer according to Jesus? Every Protestant tradition from the Mormans to the Iglesias ni Cristo and every denomination, cult and sect in between make this claim. Are the Presbyterians, the Baptists, the Jehovah Witnesses, those who are the collection of all true believers? Actually all of the approximately all 45,000 denominations, cults and sects which are protestant or not in communion with the Bishop of Rome make that claim. But can it really be if many of these communions are teaching opposite and opposing doctrines and new gospels?
Jesus gives us our answer as to who are His sheep. Continue reading
Here are the questions that Tim Spangler, a lucker found on many Fr. John Hollowells youtube.com video comment threads has challenged me on.
Tim Spangler challenges me to to show him the Catholicism in the following verses.
I will number these so Tim can follow along.
Here is Tim Spanglers Challenge:
Jesus says: Matthew: 7:13-14
“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it. 14 For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
The gate is indeed wide. In fact this gate is so wide, it can be said to be 45,000 Protestant denominations wide. That is an outstanding number. Again: The gate is wide indeed. And this just begs the question of just how many versions of the Truth there are?
And the Narrow Gate is one Church wide – THE CATHOLIC CHRUCH.
I was told by an Anti-Catholic blogger:
“The Roman Catholic Church’s teachings have been added over the centuries, which means the scriptures never taught them. If doctrines are added to the church it means the teachings themselves were never there from the beginning.”
2 Peter 1:1-2
Simon Peter, a bond-servant and apostle of Jesus Christ,
To those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ: 2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord;
What does St. Peter mean by “… received a faith of the same kind as ours, ….”? The answer is given by the example of Apostolic Authority exercised by the Apostles and Elders of the Church. Acts 15 gives the fullest account of what it means to “have received the faith of the same kind as ours.”
